剧情:Howard Taylor (played by Frank Lovejoy) is a family man who lives in California and seems financially challenged. He met a small but charismatic Hudgery Slocum (played by Lloyd Bridges). Soon, Slokum persuaded Taylor to participate in the gas station robbery to make a living. Later, they kidnapped a wealthy man in the hope of receiving a huge ransom. When the man was murdered by Slokum and then thrown into the lake, things went wrong. Taylor reached her emotional limit and began to drink heavily. He met a lonely woman and confessed his guilt while drunk. The woman escaped and called the police. When the two kidnappers were arrested, a local journalist (Richard Carlson) wrote a series of hate filled articles about the two prisoners, which ultimately led to brutal lynching. The desperation of the lower middle class: A family man who is ashamed of losing his job allows himself to be persuaded by a gangster to participate in the kidnapping. The police arrested both of them, and the anger of the town residents was merciless. "The Voice of Anger" is a dark criminal film that constructs an apocalyptic storm, but never ignores social reality, thereby telling the daily despair of the working class. This is a masterpiece and is Sai Enfield's last film before being forced to emigrate to England.
